MEMBERSHIP

The sustainability and success of a county party are dependent on robust membership. Membership provides the backbone for the party and allows us to deliver our mission and purpose.

Party membership means you can vote for or run for party leadership positions and you’re eligible to be a delegate to state and national conventions.

Becoming a member of the Anderson County Democratic Party gives you a say in the party’s platform, its leadership, and its agenda.

Why membership matters:

As members of the Anderson County Democratic Party, it’s our collective responsibility to foster the growth of our party. When was the last time you extended an invitation to a friend to attend a party meeting or encouraged someone to join as a member? We should all be doing this with like-minded friends. With critical elections on the horizon, we need individuals to not just join but also actively engage through volunteering and contribute financially through their memberships.

So, when you do invite someone to join, what’s your answer to their inevitable question: “Why should I become a member?” Here are some reasons:

  • Community: Joining the Anderson County Democratic Party instantly connects you to a broader community. You become a part of something greater than yourself, where you can meet and collaborate with others who share your values and concerns.

  • Influence: Each county party in Tennessee is allocated a specific number of delegates with a vote in determining state party officers, shaping the party platform, and crafting resolutions. The more members we have, the more delegate slots we are assigned, enhancing our influence at the state level.

  • Belief: Joining the local county party signifies faith in the grassroots work we do at the local level. It’s a show of support for the dedication of our unpaid officers who invest countless hours, the commitment of volunteers who devote their personal time, and the unique contributions of everyone working towards a common goal.
